New Soccer Referee Certification is now OPEN!

The reason for this communication is to inform you (or anyone interested in becoming a Soccer referee) that the Connecticut State Referee Program is now open for registrations. I know there are some of you who are just interested in learning the laws of the game and this is a great way to accomplish that.

The VSC is looking for some young men and women, (must be 13 by June 30th of 2021) and all adults, to become certified in refereeing to keep our program properly educated and staffed for the 2022 Recreation and Competitive Seasons. In fact, it is vital that new referees are certified to allow our program to exist. Most of the Referees that you see at games in Vernon are youth or their parents that participate in the VSC program. This is an exceptional opportunity to make great money. The VSC pays well. In fact, we regularly monitor the surrounding towns to ensure we are at the top of the pay scale. Referees can make up to $75 for an hour of their time.

Starting immediately, Referee entry level classes are now available. The learning of the 17 laws of the game and testing are now completed online.  This makes it even more convenient to consider becoming a referee.

There is a small cost for the class, and some startup cost for the uniform, whistle, and flags.   But once you get started you are on your way to begin refereeing this upcoming Spring!

How to become certified? Go to http://www.ctreferee.net/
Immediately on the home page is access to information about the entry level programs... like the one below;

NEW REFEREE / Grassroots Training is now OPEN .

Please create a profile at CTREFEREE.NET and also at the U.S. Soccer Learning Center (ussoccer.com) .

New Referees must log into CTREFEREE.NET scroll to clinic administration and register for New Grassroots Recertification Clinic (GR21). Payment will be made at the Learning Center

After enrolling in the clinic you will receive a confirmation email with links to detailed instructions.

In addition to the coursework at the Learning Center, New Grassroots Referees are required to attend an in-person session with a USSF/CSRP Instructor

Due to the ongoing concerns with respect to the spread of COVID-19 in confined spaces, the Connecticut State Referee Program may elect to switch from in-person clinics to virtual clinics (an interactive session held optimally on your computer or tablet).

Entry Level Training is currently OPEN for registration.

Becoming a Referee is a multi-step process including self-paced online coursework at the US Soccer Learning Center and a group in-person (or virtual) session with a USSF instructor. If you have not already done so, while you are waiting for the training to begin, you can create your user profiles at ctreferee.net and learning.ussoccer.com

Recertification for the officiating year 2022 is currently OPEN

All Recertification work will be done online at your own pace at the US Soccer Learning Center (learning.ussoccer.com). Every Referee member of CSRP should already have a profile at the Learning Center, look now to be sure everything is correct. Please try signing in, use the password reminder feature, if necessary, before creating a new account/profile.
